2008 Sally Ride Science Festival a Huge Success By: Lt Col A. Pete Feltz, Deputy Director, Aerospace Education Your Arizona Wing Aerospace team participated by having an Aerospace booth at the Street Fair at Arizona State University on 1 March 2008. This festival is designed to promote female interests in science and math. There were close to 1000 young females in attendance. There was an inspiring talk by astronaut Sally Ride along with Discovery Workshops for students, given by local scientists and engineers. There were also workshops for parents and teachers on ways to support students' interests in science and math. A number of cadets from several squadrons were in attendance as part of the Aerospace team attended some of the workshops.
